A young man of Chinese-Cambodian descent dies, leaving behind his isolated mother and his 4-year male lover, who grieve but don't speak a lick of each other's language. In the wake of her son's untimely death, a grieving mother reaches out to her son's roommate in an attempt to understand more about who he was.
